Welcome to The Walking Waffle!

Although you may never have seen a waffle like ours before, they are actually quite old. For over 200 years, the “Liege Waffle” [pronounced Lee-ay’-j] has been a staple on the streets of Belgium where artisnal street vendors sell them as a traditional snack food for commuters on their way to work. Because the sugar that is used in the dough carmelizes in the waffle iron, this unique waffle does not need syrup. So, people can eat them while they walk on their way. Hence, the name; WalkingWaffle. We hope you enjoy this traditional European delicacy as you walk around the Carmel Farmers Market today!
